The Jamo story began in 1968. Jamo was founded by two brothers, Preben Jacobsen and Julius Mortensen, in Glingor, a tiny fishing village on the northern coast of Denmark.Jamo is a world-renowned acoustic brand from Denmark. For more than 40 years, the company has been creating unique acoustic systems that combine high sound quality and impeccable design.The beginning of the company's history can be considered 1966, when a young carpenter Preben Jacobsen from the Danish village of Glingor started assembling speaker cabinets, installing in them the best acoustic equipment available at that time.Two years later, a salesman was needed to sell the products, and Jacobsen began a partnership with Julius Mortensen, who had previously sold fish for export.
