About brand
Jamo
The Jamo story began in 1968. Jamo was founded by two brothers, Preben Jacobsen and Julius Mortensen, in Glingor, a tiny fishing village on the northern coast of Denmark.Jamo is a world-renowned acoustic brand from Denmark. For more than 40 years, the company has been creating unique acoustic systems that combine high sound quality and impeccable design. The beginning of the company's history can be considered 1966, when a young carpenter Preben Jacobsen from the Danish village of Glingor started assembling speaker cabinets, installing in them the best acoustic equipment available at that time. Two years later, a salesman was needed to sell the products, and Jacobsen began a partnership with Julius Mortensen, who had previously sold fish for export. In 1968, this cooperation gave birth to a new company, which was named after the first letters of the two men's surnames - Jamo. The pace of development and success was staggering - in 1970 the Jamo factory in Glingore was built, and three years later the young company managed to present itself at the world electronics fair IFA in Berlin.By 1994, Jamo had become the largest loudspeaker manufacturer in Europe, and by the company's 30th anniversary in 1998 it had reached the milestone of selling 11.5 million loudspeakers in 80 countries. In all the years of its history, Jamo engineers have been looking for ways to improve current loudspeaker technologies and have always remained in the public eye - for example, the company introduced the landmark for its time CBR (Center Bass Reflex), which consisted in the creation of a slotted port that reduced the level of vibration of the front panel and significantly reduced the coefficient of harmonic distortion of the bass, and the Concert 8 loudspeaker presented in 1997 was recognized as "Loudspeaker of the Year" in Europe. The company has chosen a strategy of not producing its own speakers, allowing it to concentrate all its attention on producing a final high quality product.High quality materials, the latest technology and unique Danish design - the way Jamo goes, all new developments and technologies of the company are subjected to in-depth laboratory analysis and testing in the living rooms for which they are created, which makes the brand Jamo one of the most popular on the market.
